Sux that Imus was fired. Too much politically correct shit goin on. If a black comedian said it, it would have been funny and that would have been that. Reverse discrimination sux as much as discrimination! Grow up people and get a life. It was just a joke.

I am sick of this double set of standards brought on by the Black community. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are all too willing to jump up on their soap boxes and proclaim Don Imus a racists and call for his firing from his radio show. However, when each of them mis-spoke with their own ethnic slurs (remember the Himey Town comment about New York?), they could simply say they were sorry and the world forgave them. Why? Because it seems the Black community is free to use such slurs, even to the extent of using them in reference to their own people and that is an acceptable practice.
How can Al Sharpton hold any credibility after he was so animate about punishing those “…rich white kids who raped the poor black girl”, only to find out now that it never happened. Where is Mr. Sharptons apology to the Duke University students?
I am by no means an Imus fan. In fact I think I have only heard him a couple of times. So I am not defending his comments. Don Imus said a dumb thing that was inappropriate and he should be punished for his actions. But let the punishment fit the crime.
As for those in the black community that are all up in arms over this, all I can say is “sweep your own doorstep before you complain about someone else’s”.

Well way back in the day, I used to listen to Imus now and then. The one thing I remember about him was a Mickey Mouse skit he had after an employee dressed as “Mickey Mouse” hit a kid. The Mickey Mouse character on Imus was always saying “you mother beep beep”
I checked out Howard Stern a couple of times, he had a catchy song at the time
H-O-W-A-R-D-S-T-E-R-N, but Stern just got too vulgar for my taste.
In any event, I agree with Ron - the punishment should fit the crime. And it doesn’t. If that’s what it takes to get fired, NBC needs to fire 50 cent from Interscope.
By the way, people have been calling Tiffany Pollard from I Love New York a “ho” on the VH-1 and other message boards for weeks now
Mr. Boston and 12 Pack Want Their Own Show
On And The Winner is …, she was called a ‘two-way hoe”; and
Someone called her a “ditty ho” on Flavor of Love Spinoff
Someone call Al Sharpton.

I believe Imus had no intention to hurt anyone. See that that remark can be found in movies and on stage and on CD’s. Al S took the opportunity to get in the limelight AGAIN. Out of sight, Out of mind. How much money can one make if they are a has been? Imus.? Al ? Just what good is to going to come out of this in the end. That only black people and make jokes in regards to their race? That’s a sure way to make sure people stay divided. Look for reasons to claim ” foul “. Some one broke the rule in the game. Well how well would a society fare if everyone cried foul for every thing. What good comes from that. Hummn.. self serving reasons.. Maybe. Or should more words be added to the list of unspeakable words. I thought that list got shorter sometime back. George C. paved the way for the rappers to use the language they do now days. One way street. maybe. Looks like a self serving sermon. ? Wanting to stay victims. Does that pay? Is it good for all? Well if you keep stirring the pot. Sure the stink will never go away. People make mistakes. He got some sh-t on him. But it wouldn’t have been near as bad if someone didn’t stir up the stink!
