		<description>Ah ha!  Found your blog searching for the Poe poems "The Bells" and "Eldorado."  It was my guess that "bedight" meant fancy or decorated, which, indeed, it does.

Also, clicking on your link for the poem "The Bells," I read through it and it answered my question...  The anthology I have (which is the truly lovely "Classic Poetry:  An Illustrated Collection" selected by Michael Rosen, published by Candlewick Press) prints just its first verse, about the sleigh bells.  I had thought it an uncommonly chipper Poe poem, and was quite surprised by it.  Then, I read the complete poem, to which you link, and my surprise was turned into an, "I knew it it was too cheery to be Poe!" when the poem continues to deeper and darker types of bells...</description>
