Here’s is another poet who was also an accomplished artist. Some of his paintings are being sold online. I like the landscapes. Evidently, I’m not the only one since they all appear to be sold. I like the one with the yellow sky. Ever seen one? Only once in my life did I see a butterscotch sky. I hear that’s the color of the daytime sky on Mars. Well, it rained like crazy here one day and when the sun came out, the whole sky looked butterscotch to me. It gave me a very uneasy feeling and not a wow!! “candy luminous” one –

This style of poetry is not my particular cup of tea, but if it’s yours, Amazon has an audio book with the poet reading his own works Voice of the Poet: e.e. cummings
Here is a site that has not only Cummings’ poetry but a timeline of his life that I imagine students would find quite helpful:

I don’t know a great many people who are fans of the English poet, William Blake, for any poem other than Tyger, Tyger. and maybe A Poison Tree. Some of his poetry may strike one as a little maudlin, but not all:
My Pretty Rose Tree
William Blake
A flower was offered to me,
Such a flower as May never bore;
But I said “I’ve a pretty rose tree,”
And I passed the sweet flower o’er.
Then I went to my pretty rose tree,
To tend her by day and by night;
But my rose turned away with jealousy,
And her thorns were my only delight.
But however you may feel about his poetry … his art is something else.
